Weekend Update: non-sequential edition

-I started an art class this week! I've been angsting up a storm trying to figure out whether I should just take a night class here and there or whether I should go back for another bachelors (full time students can get financial aid!), but while I'm trying to figure it out, I'm taking a continuing ed course. It's very basic so far, but it's also about a tenth of the price of a normal studio art course, so, yeah. Yay!

-I love that it's been warmer, but warmer does mean more ice. My weekend walks have gotten significantly more perilous. I haven't broken anything yet, but it's only a matter of time.

-I've been really getting into Battlestar! Yayfun! :) However [dramatic pause, tragic sigh], I was hunting around on Youtube the other night for interviews and clips, and I came across one labeled "last scene of [thus'n'such episode]" and thought, hey, sure, I'll check that out. It wasn't until too late that I realized it was the last scene... of the last episode... of the last season. [Facepalm] I screamed a scream of despairing agony and swore a blue streak. I ...I now know what happens to a couple of very key characters. I've been enjoying the show a lot though, and despite this tragic, torturous slip, I'll probably see it through to the end. The last episode on the first disk (you know, where I actually am) is a cliffhanger, so I've been extremely twitchy all day, seeing as the branch that has the next disk available isn't open on Sundays. Will Starbuck be rescued from her post-Cylon-ass-kicking-session viper crash? Will Adama forgive her for her role in his son's untimely death?? WILL MY POOR SHATTERED TV SCREEN EVER RECOVER FROM THE SEARING GAZE OF ANGRY!EDWARDJAMESOLMOS?????????????? I can't stand the suspense. *EDIT*: Spoilers in the comments

-I can't believe how short weekends are. I have to go to work tomorrow? Seriously? Big!Christian-publisher-in-town gets MLK day off, so, um, why don't we again? Boooo.

  1. OMG, I can't believe you watched a clip from the series finale on YouTube while you're not even halfway through season one!

  2. Wow, yeah, that's harsh. I was annoyed when I was accidentally spoiled for one of the Cylons. You can't just watch episodes willy-nilly! THERE ARE DIRE CONSEQUENCES. How much of it did you watch?

  3. I didn't realize what I was watching until her hand hit the seat and it was too late!!! [sob] Really, you know from the beginning she has cancer, but still... sucks. Omg, beautiful ending though. I watched the bit in the plane flying over ...Africa?, followed by him talking to her grave on the hilltop. (I could tell there was another scene in there w/other characters, but it was cut out.)

  4. Ah, okay. Well, that's a fair few of spoilers, but there's still a lot that awaits you and will surprise you.

  5. It's probably for the best. Up until, like, the finale itself we were still trying to convince ourselves that Roslin was somehow going to survive, so maybe this way you won't be so devastated you still won't have rewatched the finale almost a year later and thinking about it makes you sad inside. Not that I know what that's like.

  6. Yeah, I'm telling myself it'll make it easier in the end, but I was very !!??#$%^&!! when it first happened. And yep, there's still tons I don't know; actually, what I did see brought up more questions than it answered.

I am starting to learn that I really can't google *anything* BSG, and I'm having to restrain myself -- I love looking for pictures, icons, interviews, etc. connected to my obsessions. I also like having things I know will happen at some point to look forward to -- it's like Christmas: if you're just surprised by Christmas one day, it's not as much fun, right? But BSG is too spoiler sensitive, so I'll have to have to give it up for a while.

  7. I...could plant things for you to look forward to on my blog, that aren't terribly spoilery? That kind of sounds like a fun challenge. (And I know what you mean about the frustration of not being able to seek out fun stuff when you get into a show that's already aired, especially one that you really don't want to be spoiled for.)
